How to email without helping spammers!
You probably have noticed that every time
you forward an e-mail there is information left over from the people who got the
message before you, namely their names and e-mail addresses. As the messages get
forwarded along, the list builds and builds and builds.
If one computer gets a virus, then it can send that virus to every E-mail
address on it. Or spammers can get the list!
What you need to do to curb junk email and virus':
1 - If the email you would like to forward is text only, without pictures or
attachments, copy the text and paste it to a new email.
2 - When you forward an e-mail, DELETE all of the other addresses that appear in
the body of the message (at the top). It only takes a second.
3 - Whenever you send an e-mail to more than one person, always use the Bcc:
(blind carbon copy) field for listing the e-mail addresses. When you send to
Bcc: your message will automatically say "Undisclosed Recipients" in the To:
field. (To use the Bcc box, click on the View menu, select All Headers.)
4 - Forward from the actual page you wish someone to view. This prevents having
to open those many e-mails just to see what you sent.
5 - Petitions are a gold mind of emails for spammers! If you want to support the
petition, send it as your own personal letter to the intended recipient. Your
position may carry more weight as a personal letter than a laundry list of names
and email address on a petition.
Just a note: www.snopes.com is a great
resource for finding out the validity of the content in emails. Did someone
really see ELVIS last week? A lot of hysteria about virus' and lost children
could be avoided if snopes.com was used.
Do your part! Let's stop the junk mail and the viruses.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
"I think the Irish woman was freed from slavery by bingo. They can go out now,
dressed up, with their handbags and have a drink and play bingo. And they
deserve it."

Thought of the Day
Write the bad things that are done to you in sand, but write the good things
that happen to you on a piece of marble. Arabic parable
